This newly cleared assay was developed as a tool to monitor warfarin patients with prolonged pro-times, and is also useful in detecting Factor X deficiencies. Prolonged pro-times may be seen in warfarin patients with lupus inhibitors and in patients being bridged from direct thrombin inhibitors to oral anticoagulant therapy. The DiaPharma Factor X kit is a solution to dealing with unstable INRs in warfarin patients with lupus inhibitors and eliminates the issues of varying sensitivities of different thromboplastins. The assay is reliable, readily available, and easy to use, and can be brought onto automated coagulation analyzers.
