The Biophen UFH Calibrator kit is a 4 vial x 5-level set (levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) of freeze-dried human plasmas supplemented with increasing concentrations (range 0 - 1.40 IU/mL) of Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) for the contstruction of Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) calibration curves, using anti-Xa colorimetric assays such as Biophen Heparin 3 (cat # 221003) and Biophen Heparin 6 (cat # 221006). Can be used in association with Biophen HeparinControl (cat # 223001) for testing Low Molecular Heparin (UFH) in plasma. Calibrated against an International Standard for UFH from NIBSC.

• CAL 1: Calibrator 1. 1ml. 4 vials. 0 IU/mL
• CAL 2: Calibrator 2. 1ml. 4 vials. about 0.35 IU/mL
• CAL 3: Calibrator 3. 1ml. 4 vials. about 0.70 IU/mL
• CAL 4: Calibrator 4. 1ml. 4 vials. about 1.05 IU/mL
• CAL 5: Calibrator 5. 1ml. 4 vials. about 1.40 IU/m

Performance Characteristics:

The calibration curve obtained covers the usual concentrations currently observed during Heparin (UFH) therapy. The currently available anti-Xa methods, used for the measurement of Heparin concentrations in plasma, offer a sensitivity threshold of about 0.05 IU/mL.
