The Biophen UFH Control kit is a set of freeze-dried human quality control plasmas supplemented with Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) at two levels for the validation of Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) calibration curves with anti-Xa methods such as Biophen Heparin 3 (cat # 221003) and Biophen Heparin 6 (cat # 221006). Can be used in association with Biophen Heparin Calibrator (cat # 222001) for testing Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) in plasma. Biophen UFH Controls are calibrated against an International Standard from NIBSC.

Reagents:

• C1: Control 1 - 6 vials of 1 mL (about 0.20 IU/mL) (to be restored with 1 mL distilled water).
• C2: Control 2 - 6 vials of 1 mL (about 0.50 IU/mL) (to be restored with 1 mL distilled water).

Performance Characteristics:

The calibration curve obtained covers the usual concentrations currently observed during Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) therapy. The currently available anti-Xa methods, used for the measurement of heparins and their analogues in plasma, offer a sensitivity threshold of about 0.05 IU/mL.
