Thrombin is purified from bovine prothrombin activated by thromboplastin. For the determination of Antithrombin and Heparin, as well as other studies where a highly purified Thrombin is needed.

• Bovine Albumin 2.4 mg
• Tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane 9.7 mg
• Tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane HCL 25.2 mg
• Mannitol 20 mg

53 nkat thrombin correspond to approximately 25 IU and 21 NIH-U.

Reconstitution, Storage & Stability

Reconstitute with 1.5 ml purified water to obtain an activity of about 35 nkat/ml, or reconstitute with purified water to obtain desired concentration.

The lyophilized powder is stable at 2-8°C until the expiry date printed on the label. The reconstituted Thrombin is stable for 1 week at 2-8°C.

Enzyme Activity Determination

The activity of Thrombin can be measured using chromogenic substrate S-2238 (item number S820324).
