Catalog #: 20001200
Intended use
Human plasma deficient in factor XII for use as a substrate in factor assays based on the activated partial thromboplastin time test (APTT) on IL Coagulation Systems.
Summary and principle
Factor deficiencies may be due to congenital disorders. Deficiencies may also be acquired secondarily due to other diseases such as liver disease or Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC).
Abnormalities of the intrinsic pathway factors are determined by performing a modified activated partial thromboplastin time test (APTT). Patient plasma is diluted and added to a plasma deficient in a single intrinsic factor. Correction of the clotting time of the deficient plasma is proportional to the concentration (activity %) of that factor in the patient plasma, interpolated from a calibration curve.
Reagent -- Composition, Packaging, Storage and Stability
Factor XII deficient plasma (Cat. No. 0020001200): 5 x 1 mL vials of lyophilized human plasma congenitally deficient of factor XII containing buffer and stabilizers.
Unopened deficient plasma is stable until the expiration date shown on the vial when stored at 2-8°C. Stability after reconstitution: 4 hours at 2-8°C in the original vial. For optimal stability remove deficient plasma from the system and store it at 2-8°C in the original vial.
Additional reagents and control plasmas
The following are not supplied with the kit and must be purchased separately.
