The Biophen Orgaran Control kit is a set of freeze-dried human quality control plasmas supplemented with 2 different concentrations of Sodium Danaparoïd (Orgaran) for the validation of Sodium Danaparoïd (Orgaran) calibration curves, such as in anti-Xa colorimetric assays like Biophen Heparin 3 (cat # 221003) and Biophen Heparin 6 (cat # 221006). Can be used in association with Biophen Orgaran Calibrator (cat # 222201) for testing specifically Sodium Danaparoïd (Orgaran) in plasma.

Clinical Background:

Sodium Danaparoïd (Orgaran) is a polysaccharide anticoagulant, used as an alternative therapy to Heparin or Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH) when these latter drugs are contraindicated. Measuring the Sodium Danaparoïd concentration in patient's plasma allows monitoring the therapy and adjusting drug dosage. Quality control plasmas allow checking the right performances of the assay.

Reagents (to be restored with 1 mL distilled water):

  • C1: Level 1. 1ml. 6 vials. about 0.5 IU/mL
  • C2: Level 2. 1ml. 6 vials. about 1.0 IU/mL

Performance Characteristics:

The calibration curve obtained covers the usual concentrations currently observed during Sodium Danaparoïd (Orgaran) therapy. The currently available anti-Xa methods, used for the measurement of Sodium Danaparoïd (Orgaran) concentrations in plasma, offer a sensitivity threshold of about 0.05 IU/mL.
