Catalog #: C823492 (823492)
Intended use
Lyophilized human plasma, prepared by addition of LMW heparin. Calibrated against the 1st International WHO standard (LMW heparin). For construction of calibration curves for quality control of chromogenic heparin assays.
Summary and principle
Heparin is the most frequently used antithrombotic therapeutic drug. The biological activity of this sulfated glycosaminoglycan resides in its ability to accelerate (up to 2000-fold) the inhibitory effect of antithrombin (AT) on the coagulation proteases.
The Low and High Levels of Control Plasma LMW Heparin are prepared by means of a dedicated process and contain Low and High concentration of LMW Heparin.
They are intended for the assessment of precision and accuracy of the assay at Heparin low and high levels.
Reagents -- Composition, Package, Storage and Stability
Control Plasma LMW Heparin, Low: 4 x 1 ml vials (0.3 IU / ml) of a lyophilized powder of human plasma containing low molecular weight (LMW) heparin.
Control Plasma LMW Heparin, High: 4 x 1 ml vials (0.7 IU / ml) of a lyophilized powder of human plasma containing low molecular weight (LMW) heparin.
Unopened controls are stable until the expiration date shown on the vial when stored at 2-8°C. Stability after reconstitution: 24 hours at 20-25°C, or 14 days at 2-8°C in the original vial.
