The method I am using now does not distinguish between apoptotic, necrotic, and viable cells. How is the M30-Apoptosense different?

Some methods, such as TUNEL (DNA labeling), do not discern necrotic and apoptotic cells. Since the epitope on cytokeratin 18 is only exposed after caspase cleavage during apoptosis, the M30-Apoptosense® assay distinguishes between apoptotic, necrotic, and viable cells.
